American Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology – Policies

1. Submission Policy

The American Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology publishes original research articles, review papers, and experimental or clinical studies related to pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, drug development, and allied disciplines. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal’s official submission system and ensure compliance with author guidelines, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet minimum academic or scientific quality standards may be rejected at the initial screening stage.

2. Peer Review Policy

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness and scientific rigor. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in pharmacy or pharmacology. Reviewers evaluate originality, scientific validity, methodology, relevance, and clarity of presentation. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial assessment.

3. Publication Ethics Policy

The American Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to act with honesty, transparency, and responsibility. Any form of unethical behavior, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, or inappropriate authorship, is strictly prohibited. The journal follows internationally accepted ethical standards and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

4. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reliable similarity detection software prior to peer review. The journal enforces a strict anti-plagiarism policy covering copied content, self-plagiarism, and redundant publication. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels will be rejected. If plagiarism is identified after publication, appropriate corrective actions, including correction or retraction, will be taken.

5. Open Access Policy

The American Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology operates as a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely available online without subscription or access fees. This policy supports the broad dissemination of pharmaceutical and pharmacological research and promotes global access to scientific knowledge.

Authors retain the copyright of their published work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article. All published content is made available under a Creative Commons license, allowing reuse with proper attribution. Commercial use requires prior permission from the copyright holder.

7. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy

Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before the completion of the peer review process by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. Withdrawal after acceptance or publication is permitted only under exceptional circumstances. The journal may retract published articles in cases of ethical misconduct, plagiarism, regulatory non-compliance, or serious scientific errors. Retraction notices will remain permanently accessible on the journal’s website.
