Abstract

Liposomal drug delivery systems (LDDS) have revolutionized pharmaceutical therapy by enhancing the therapeutic index of drugs through improved pharmacokinetics and targeted delivery. These nanocarriers offer a biocompatible, versatile platform to encapsulate a wide range of bioactive compounds, reducing toxicity and improving bioavailability. Advances in liposomal formulation, including PEGylation, ligand targeting, and stimuli-responsive systems, have further expanded their clinical utility. This review provides a comprehensive overview of modern liposomal technologies and their implications in drug delivery.
