Abstract

Drug-induced toxicity is a major challenge in clinical pharmacology and drug development, often limiting the therapeutic potential of otherwise effective drugs. Inflammation plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis and progression of such toxicity. This article reviews the mechanisms by which inflammatory responses exacerbate drug-induced toxicity in vital organs such as the liver, kidneys, and heart. It also explores how understanding these interactions can guide the development of anti-inflammatory strategies and biomarkers to improve drug safety and patient outcomes.
