Abstract

Pain management remains a significant clinical challenge, with many patients experiencing inadequate relief from conventional therapies. Recent advances in pharmacology have led to the development of novel analgesics that target various pain pathways more effectively, with fewer side effects. This article reviews recent pharmacological approaches to pain management, including opioid alternatives, targeted therapies for neuropathic pain, and non-opioid analgesics. We also explore the role of cannabinoid-based treatments, gene therapies, and personalized pain management strategies in improving patient outcomes and reducing reliance on opioids.
