Abstract
The increasing global geriatric population has necessitated innovations in pharmaceutical dosage forms tailored to the unique physiological and psychological needs of elderly patients. Age-related challenges such as dysphagia, cognitive decline, polypharmacy, and altered pharmacokinetics demand modified and patient-centric drug delivery systems. This paper explores recent advancements in geriatric-friendly dosage forms including orally disintegrating tablets, transdermal patches, and multiparticulate systems. These developments aim to enhance medication adherence, safety, and therapeutic efficacy. Pharmaceutical scientists and healthcare professionals must collaborate to develop and implement suitable dosage forms that address the multifaceted needs of this vulnerable population.
