Abstract

The field of biopharmaceuticals has seen remarkable growth in recent decades, evolving from early recombinant DNA technologies to the advanced biologic therapies available today. This article traces the journey of biopharmaceuticals from their initial development in laboratories to their eventual commercial success in the market. We examine key stages in the development process, the regulatory framework, manufacturing challenges, and the commercialization of biopharmaceutical products. Emphasis is placed on understanding the critical innovations that have enabled the creation of therapies for complex diseases, such as cancer and autoimmune disorders. Additionally, we explore the challenges involved in bringing biopharmaceuticals to market, including pricing, access, and global disparities in healthcare.
