Abstract

Bioavailability remains a crucial determinant of drug efficacy, and its enhancement is key to optimizing therapeutic outcomes. This article discusses various strategies employed in drug formulation to improve bioavailability, focusing on both conventional and novel techniques. These strategies include modifying the physicochemical properties of drugs, utilizing advanced drug delivery systems, and exploiting various excipients and formulations to achieve better absorption. Emphasis is placed on innovative systems such as nanoparticles, liposomes, and solid dispersions, which have shown promising results in improving the solubility and stability of poorly bioavailable drugs. The article also highlights the challenges in formulation development and the future directions for bioavailability enhancement in the pharmaceutical industry.
