Abstract

Transdermal drug delivery (TDD) systems offer a unique approach to the administration of therapeutic agents through the skin. This delivery method provides numerous benefits over traditional oral and injectable routes, including improved patient compliance, controlled drug release, and minimal side effects. Recent advancements in transdermal formulations, including the use of nanotechnology, microneedles, and permeation enhancers, have significantly improved the efficacy and safety of these systems. This article reviews the current state of transdermal drug delivery, exploring the latest formulations, applications, challenges, and future directions in the field.
