Abstract

Quantum optics has emerged as a transformative field in modern telecommunications, offering unprecedented capabilities in secure communication, ultra-fast data transfer, and low-loss signal propagation. Recent advancements in entangled photon generation, quantum repeaters, and integrated quantum photonics are reshaping the landscape of optical networks. This paper reviews emerging trends in quantum optics relevant to telecommunication applications, including quantum key distribution (QKD), entangled photon sources, quantum memories, and the integration of quantum devices with classical infrastructure. Emphasis is placed on recent experimental breakthroughs, material innovations, and the challenges that must be overcome for wide-scale deployment.
