Abstract
Black holes, once considered mere theoretical entities, are now a central focus in astrophysical research. Their formation and evolution span a wide range of physical processes, from stellar collapse to mergers and Hawking radiation. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the physical mechanisms governing black hole birth, mass accretion, mergers, spin dynamics, and eventual evaporation. Recent breakthroughs in gravitational wave astronomy and numerical relativity have provided unprecedented insights into their growth and interaction with surrounding matter. By exploring key theoretical frameworks and observational evidence, this study emphasizes the role of black holes in cosmology and high-energy astrophysics.
