Abstract
High-Mix, Low-Volume (HMLV) production systems present unique challenges in manufacturing due to their inherent variability and complexity. This review examines various techniques and strategies that have been proposed to improve productivity in such environments. The paper explores methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and Total Productive Maintenance, highlighting their applications and effectiveness in HMLV settings. Additionally, the integration of advanced technologies like automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence is discussed as a means to enhance productivity. The review concludes with insights into future directions and potential challenges in leveraging these techniques for sustained productivity improvements in dynamic organizational environments.
