Abstract
Plastic waste has become one of the most pressing environmental issues globally, contributing to pollution in oceans, landfills, and ecosystems. Chemical engineering plays a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions for the management, recycling, and reduction of plastic waste. This article explores the latest chemical engineering solutions for sustainable plastic waste management, including advanced recycling technologies, waste-to-energy processes, and biodegradable plastics. It also highlights the challenges and future opportunities for chemical engineers to contribute to reducing plastic waste while improving the circular economy.
