Abstract
Climate change is one of the most significant global challenges of our time, with far-reaching consequences for ecosystems, economies, and human health. Chemical engineering plays a crucial role in mitigating the effects of climate change by developing and optimizing technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote energy efficiency, and facilitate the transition to renewable energy sources. This article explores the various ways in which chemical engineering contributes to climate change mitigation, focusing on advancements in carbon capture, renewable energy production, energy storage, and sustainable industrial processes. The paper also discusses the challenges faced by chemical engineers in scaling up these technologies and the role of innovation in addressing climate change.
